Recently refreshed with a chic new look and a revamped menu, this beloved Houston restaurant has taken things up a notch. State of Grace was once known for its Gulf Coast-inspired dishes, but now hosts a menu that leans more into steaks and classic European flavors. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the scene, State of Grace promises a dining experience that’s both sophisticated and memorable. The atmosphere is refined yet comfortable, making it a great setting for a romantic dinner or a stylish evening with friends.

Upon entering, you’ll notice the fresh updates to the dining room, which now boasts a sleek and modern aesthetic while maintaining the warm and welcoming vibe State of Grace has always been known for. It’s the perfect spot for a fancy night out.

The new menu is where things really shine. We had the pleasure of sampling several dishes, and we wanted to savor each bit! The Steak Tartare, paired with wood-roasted bone marrow and served tableside set the tone for the meal—delicious and theatrical. We also loved the Endive & Beets, which was a refreshing mix of flavors, and the King Crab and Raw Oysters, which brought a fresh taste of the sea. If you’re a fan of indulgent sides, the "Expensive" Mushrooms are as luxurious as they sound, and the Cacio e Pepe is a creamy, peppery delight that you’ll want to order again.

For the main event, the Cote de Boeuf (dry-aged ribeye) is a must-try. It’s beautifully cooked and full of flavor, perfect for sharing if you’d like to sample more dishes. And don’t forget dessert—the Bananas Foster is a sweet and decadent way to finish off your meal.

Of course, no visit to State of Grace would be complete without a stop at their Oyster Bar. We had the Oyster Bar Martini, and let’s just say it might be the best martini in Houston—perfectly balanced and served ice cold.

When you’re looking for an impeccable meal with outstanding service, State of Grace delivers with style. Make sure to save this spot for your next upscale dining experience—you won’t be disappointed!
