How to Spend Valentine's Day in Houston 2021

Love is in the air and 2021 is flying by! To celebrate the holiday of love in Houston, TX, we’ve handpicked our favorite restaurant deals and things to do around the city with your Valentine, Galentine, or Palentine. Although this year looks a liiiiittle different than last year’s, there are ways to spread the love in a safe manner. Whether you’re looking for an intimate dining experience or wanting to do something hands-on to remember this year, we’ve put together a list for every Valentine's Day budget.

Restaurants

Chocolate Bar ($)

When we think of Valentine’s Day the first thing that comes to mind is CHOCOLATE. This sweets shop has two locations (Montrose and Rice Village) that have so many hearts day sweets we had to stop ourselves from getting it all. If chocolate covered strawberries are your thing, they hand dip them in store and sell for $4 each. Grab a bottle of wine at HEB, a box of everything at Chocolate Bar and head to a park nearby to taste them all! P.S. They also have great chocolate gift box sets if you're still doing some last minute gift shopping!

State Fare ($-$$)

Got a gal you’re wanting to celebrate with this Galentine’s day? State Fare is hosting a gals weekend brunch with mimosas, rosé flights, and red velvet pancakes. Not a brunch fan? Go for dinner and get a steak and lobster duo for less than $50! They’re also offering to-go options if you’re not dining in quite yet.

Roma Italian ($$)

Roma Italian always has a wonderful Valentine’s Day deal and this year is no exception! You can get a 4 course meal (appetizer, pasta, entree, and dessert) for $50 per person. This is such an insane deal for any couple craving Italian food this Valentine's Day weekend in Houston!

The Grove ($$)

Another 4 course meal in Downtown (right next to Discovery Green)! On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there will be live music happening on their 2nd floor patio to accompany your romantic dinner. The pre-fixe dinner has 6 different seating times (make sure to make reservations!) and you can also stay at a Hilton for a discounted rate! If you are feeling like staying home, they’re offering allll the romance to-go as well.

Watever Fresh @ Bravery Chef Hall

Y’all this is so unique! Watever Fresh’s Chef Martin Weaver changes up the menu every month, and February’s is ah-ma-zing. This only happens on Saturdays and there are only 10 spots available for each seating time (6:30 and 9pm) so snag a spot while you can! This would be such an intimate and fun experience with your lovey.

Thirteen 48 ($$$)

Okay this should really be classified as both an experience AND a restaurant because how cool is this y’all! You can rent out the entire place for 2 hours for a sweet, romantic 3 course dinner for two! It’s an intimate way to show your person that you love them, and you can even add on a flower arrangement when booking. We’re dreaming about how adorable this is.

Experiences

City Cellars ($)

Valentine’s Day shouldn’t only matter to those in relationships! City Cellars is doing an amazing deal where if you bring in a picture of your ex (we’re sure you still have one framed somewhere….), they’ll shred it and you’ll get a glass of their house wine! To get this deal you have to purchase some food, but make a night out of it with some friends and relive how awful your exes were over great food and wine.

Forth & Nomad Candle Bar ($)

Not into sweets? Make a candle at Forth & Nomad’s Candle Bar to signify your relationship! Together you can create a one-of-a-kind candle incorporating scents that perfectly describe you both. Sweet, salty, citrusy or woody? Book a seat at the in-store candle bar (limited capacity and spots are filling fast!) or take home a kit of your own to have a night in. P.S. This is a great local boutique to pick up a gift for your Valentine too!

Moonstruck Drive-In

Can’t decide between a picnic in the park or a movie night? Why not both! Moonstruck Drive-In is partnering with a super cute charcuterie board creator, @amilli_boards, to mesh the two. During Valentine's Day weekend, you can choose to upgrade your usual ticket by adding on a custom-made charcuterie box to munch on throughout the movie. Bring your favorite sweets and drinks and you've got yourself the perfect movie date! They’re playing Crazy Rich Asians on Friday February 12th and we are HERE FOR IT!!!

Grand Tuscany Hotel ($$)

Looking for a stay-cation this V-Day? The Grand Tuscany Hotel (located in the northwest corner of the outer loop) is letting you STAY FREE! You’ll get one night at this luxury hotel in a king guest room with a lazy river by booking a dinner for two on February 13 or 14th ($99 per person). Mention their social media post when booking.
