Houston’s ice cream scene wouldn’t be complete without Flower & Cream, a beloved local spot that’s all about small-batch, handcrafted flavors. What started as a single shop in West University has grown into three charming locations across the city, now serving sweet treats in River Oaks’ Regent Square and Downtown’s POST!

Flower & Cream is known for its wide array of creative flavors, with options to suit everyone, including vegan ice creams and cones for plant-based dessert lovers. They feature a rotating menu that changes with the seasons, and during our visit, they had Gingerbread and Peppermint Bark for the holidays! And by the way, their extensive flavor menu doesn’t just stop at ice cream– it includes the cones! You can pick from Matcha, Red Velvet, Birthday Cake, Lavender, etc. We had fun mixing and matching ice cream and cone flavors, but you can never go wrong with the classic which is also made in-house.

We had the chance to try a few of their seasonal and signature creations. The Gingerbread and Peppermint Bark scream holiday cheer, and we could see why we’ve heard so many friends rave about the Raspberry Tres Leches and Rainbow Cake (featuring chunks of house-made cake) flavors. Don’t miss the (vegan) Mango Pie—it’s hands-down our favorite flavor between the vegan and non-vegan options alike!

Their River Oaks Regent Square location adds even more magic to the mix. You can grab a cone to-go and sit in the lawn steps away from the shop or walk off your dinner with a friend. This local gem is always worth a visit. One scoop and you’ll understand why it’s become a Houston staple!
